Disabled crossing

Reported via desktop anonymously at 17:36, Thu 2 September 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later

There is no where to cross busy roads if you are a disabled wheelchair user and unable to lift arms to press the button on the crossings. It's really dangerous as you have to navigate the traffic which has increased significantly with the new housing.

The footpath which leads down to Waitorse (Little Lane) only has one drop down curb and therefore you have to go onto the road with the parked cars and oncoming cars. There needs to be another drop curb at the far end of the path to avoid any hazards and high risk of an accident.

  • Thank you for your report. The other options for crossings are either a zebra crossing or a centre refuge, we will investigate whether it is possible to install one of these. Although it is a little further away, there is an uncontrolled crossing point at on Grove Road just before Limborough Road that can be utilised.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
