Street lights not working on Milton road

Reported via desktop in the Street lighting category anonymously at 15:23, Wed 1 September 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

3 lampposts on Milton Road in position but not connected. We live in Aldous Drive and walking to the village at night necessitates use of a torch. Very hazardous. Traffic safety also a problem. This has been the case for some considerable time. Cost? Ornamental only?

Updates

  • Thank you for raising this issue. It has already been noted and OCC Road Agreements Team are currently chasing the developer, Miller Homes, to get the street lighting finished and signed-off ASAP. Apologies for the delay with this, but they have been slow completing highway works on a number of sites recently and we are currently using our powers under the S278 Agreements to force them into action as quickly as we can. We had hoped this wouldn’t be necessary, but it has now dragged on for too long as you are well aware. I can’t give you any dates as yet and it can take a while at present for developers to get the necessary input from the electricity provider as well.

    Kind regards Road Agreements
