Dangerous crossing: junction of Moreton Lane and Phoenix trail

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 17:37, Friday 27 August 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Urgent requirement to mitigate dangers at this junction, where recent emergency stop avoided injury or worse to 11 year old on way to school on fast bike failed to check if safe. Slow markings added but not visible in frost, or snow conditions. Previous 5 mph sign missing but speed limit signs at move ends essential to slow speeding delivery vans and quiet electric cars. Also traffic calming measures. No feedback to last report recommending critical safely review. Housing development at Bate Leys farm will only add to danger, an accident waiting to happen ! Small children, dogs off leads etc. Check love Thame Facebook for over a hundred comments on hazards . At a loss to understand why no speed limit as there is a regulation for such roads, Repeat this is Urgent.

  • Thank you for your report. On visiting this site I found the SLOW markings very visible on the road and footway trail so no action to be taken. Unfortunately if people do not adhere to these markings there is nothing we can do. Regards
