Unmarked speed hump

Reported via desktop in the Road Markings category anonymously at 09:26, Sun 22 August 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

A speed hump was put in quite a few weeks ago and doesn’t have any markings. Driving in the rain and dark last night it was completely hidden, it was only because I knew it was there that I could drive over it safely. If a motorbike catches it unawares there could be a nasty accident.

  • Dear Paula Hudson,

We apologise for this problem with the missing lining to the humps. We have repeatedly asked the contractor to rectify this and we had a site meeting to discuss yesterday. As well as the lining, one of the humps will require taking out and replacing due to incorrect dimensions. Meanwhile it has been arranged that there will be temporary ‘spray can’ markings applied today while awaiting the final hump remedial works and lining, which should be completed within the next week or two.

    Kind regards
    Road Agreements Team
