Roadworks either side of Adderbury on Milton Road and Berry Hill Road

Reported via desktop in the Current Roadworks category anonymously at 13:24, Tue 10 August 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

You are installing speed calming in these two places, I travel this road on many occasions at various times of the day and have yet to see anyone working on the installation. The work is considerably overdue and causing problems. Lorries still go through at speed and are now going on to the grass verge throwing mud on to the road. The large arrow signs actually hinder visibility to see traffic coming the other way, a low sports car came through that I could not see because of the signage. Please can you not finish this simple installation without any further delay.

  • State changed to: Investigating

  • This is an awful attempt at installing chicanes, As person above has mentioned, you cannot see through the chicane because of the unfinished work and railings left at the half finished chicanes. Vehicles of all sizes and cyclists are struggling to see through to the other side of the chicane to see if they can either proceed through the chicane or give way to other vehicles, as per signage.

This needs clearing up and finishing ASAP, especially as they were firstly supposed to be finished by mid July and then extended to 30th July (as per signage) and now left unfinished.

It now feels more dangerous having the unfinished chicanes there than what it was before they started to install them.

  • As with the other "traffic calming measures" on Berry hill road, these are currently Very dangerous especially in the temporary condition. I assume that a road safety audit has been done on this location as I feel that the traffic calming measure will in fact make the road more dangerous. During late afternoon, when the sun does shine, it is difficult to see on coming vehicles as you are travelling directly into the sun. The vehicles travelling west have the priority but traffic coming the other way are forced onto the wrong side of the road. The installation of these measure are likely to push more traffic through Bloxham village centre which has less capacity than the Milton road. The whole plan seems inappropriate for vehicle routes around local villages.

  • Unless workmen attend this work will never be completed, never anyone working or even attending. Must be around eight weeks and still not finished even though road was closed for two weeks to start with.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • I can only presume that the delay is due to the lack a legal approval to move the 30 limit extent. ie the current set up on Milton road is illegal unless it is fully signed as temporary road control in a derestricted area.

  • “ Work” still in progress!

One new 30 mpg sign completely covered by tree.

Really looking forward to completion at sometime in the future
