Flooding of my property from path and road

Reported via desktop anonymously at 18:43, Saturday 7 August 2021

Sent to Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Every time there is heavy rain, water flows from the road on to the path then floods my drive way and back garden.

I suspect the drains on the road are blocked and not taking the water away quick enough, but what ever the cause water should not be pouring from the public high away and paths on to my property and flooding it.

It didn’t always used to do this.

  • Thank you for your report. We have raised job order for drainage team to attend and clean gullies at this location. However our highway drainage is connected directly to Thames Water surface water sewer which could cause the problem rather than blocked gullies.
We are going to investigate and if issue remains Thames Water needs to be informed and do their own investigation. Regards
