Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later

Speed limit and calming measures needed on the road. Cars are speeding on the road. Road is narrower near the traffic lights.

  • Where the traffic lights are, the road becomes considerably narrower and the pavement is almost narrower which makes it unsafe for pedestrians. Especially as this road has a lot of HGV traffic.

    Now that this area is become more residential with the hosting developments on either side, more consideration and action needs to be taken to reduce speeding traffic on Downs Road.

If you are concerned about speeding vehicles you need to report this to Thames Valley Police who are the enforcement authority where speeding is concerned. You could also contact your local parish council to see if they are able to set up a speed watch group who may be able to help monitor speeds along this road.
