Drain covers (grids) have been covered with tarmac

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Appx 18 months ago Chestnut Avenue was resurfaced. A drain cover at the side of the road between 22 and 24 has been completely covered over with tarmac. I know it was there, I used it to empty water buckets after washing the car. There is also a partially covered drain grid outside no 26 Chestnut Ave. This still has all the tape on it put there by road workers but was never uncovered properly. We just today had a torrential downpour and the rain was sluicing down the road. The drain grids need to be found and uncovered to allow the water to run off.

  • Chestnut Avenue was resurfaced in appx 2019 and in doing so the grids were covered with Tarmac which causes inadequate run off in heavy rain.
