Dangerous speeding traffic

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 16:24, Wednesday 21 July 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Since the easing of the lockdown, traffic levels have increased and so has the average speed of vehicles travelling to and from Oxford along the Foxcombe Road.

Last weekend, I saw two children narrowly being missed by a car as they crossed the road at the top of Lincombe Lane. The car was doing well in excess of 50mph.

During the rush hours, the average speed is well over 40mph and cars keeping to the speed limit are often overtaken in the 30mph limit!

Can I urge you to introduce some traffic calming measures before there is a serious accident. Action now is a lot better than regret later.
