Children playing in Salisbury Crescent

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 18:16, Monday 12 July 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Hello

Could I please ask if "Children playing" or similar signage could be placed at the start and finish of the Salisbury Crescent in Oxford (OX2 7TL)

This is an access road to residential properties. Small children frequently play in front of their houses. There are quite a few elderly residents in the street too. As it's a crescent the visibility for drivers or other road users is not great.

Fairly frequently, drivers can speed in the road which does not feel safe for the children or elderly and it would help if a signage was erected to remind drivers of children playing or elderly crossing the road.

Thank you

It would be appreciated

  • thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately "children at play" is not longer a sub-plate that can be used under current sign regulations. However, I will forward your concerns onto the safety team for their consideration for any action.
