Parking on pavements

Reported via desktop anonymously at 22:22, Sat 10 July 2021

Sent to Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Every day at least one van is parked fully across the pavement near the corner on Lincoln Close. There is no room for people to walk past or Mobility scooters to drive. The drivers live or go into 72 Gillett Road. My next door neighbour has to use a mobility scooter and has on many occasions not been able to get past and has had to go into the street.

  • I have just received a text stating that it is not the responsibility of OCC to report the parking of vehicles on the pavement to them. When I contacted 101 and informed them of the parked vehicles on the pavement, they told me it was the responsibility of OCC and not the responsibility of the police. Who is right and who is going to take on the responsibility. Lincoln Close is a housing scheme for, in the main, disabled and/or elderly people. They need clear pavements for their mobility scooters etc. Can OCC and the police get together and make up their minds about who is going to take action on this issue? I shall inform the other residents and make a decision on what action will be taken.
