Road collapsing

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 17:06, Tuesday 6 July 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The Grove Road has a 5m section which is collapsing. It is near a deep pothole by drain. I was driving along here today and met a car coming the other way. First I had to drive over the drain pothole and secondly I had to drive into the long rut on road side to avoid the other car. It felt very unsafe and could also lead to wheel damage.

  • I was driving my car today, and due to the same circumstance of being faced with a vehicle coming the other way I was forced to keep tight to the side of the road, therefore hit this rut which has caused a catastrophic failure to my car, breaking the drive shaft and causing other damage. This required a breakdown truck to transport it to a garage.
