3 lane road section is recipe for head-on accidents.

The 3 lane section of the A4130 known as Gangsdown Hill, between Nuffield and Crowmarsh needs to be changed. There are 2 lanes for going up the hill (the outside one has hatched lines) and one lane going down. On a weekly basis I have seen cars that are travelling down the hill illegally crossing the double white lines and overtaking using the 'middle' lane. It is only a matter of time before there is a head-on crash here. The road layout needs changing and/or signage needs to be in place stating that you are not allowed to overtake going down the hill. The least that could be done is to repaint the double white lines, which are quite faded.
Thank you for your enquiry. This issue has been passed onto the relevant team for investigation.
