Width restriction too narrow for domestic vehicles

Reported via desktop in the Highway Schemes category anonymously at 06:27, Saturday 3 July 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The bollards placed for the new width restriction on the bridge are far too narrow. It is impossible to get a large 4x4 vehicle through without scraping the sides. Many local residents have vehicles like this, myself included. The bollards have already been hit and dislodged out of place which makes the problem even worse. They urgently need to be repositioned to allow extra width for residents domestic vehicles to pass through without damage. A land rover discovery like mine for instance is just over 2 meters in width.

  • Thankyou for your enquiry . The circle sign with the red ring is stating that no vehicles over the maximum width shown and no vehicles over 3 tonne MGW Maximum gross weight. So if any vehicles
over these restrictions need to find alternative route .

  • I understand the weight restriction but setting a width limit that prevents local residents with domestic vehicles that do not exceed the weight limit from using the road is unacceptable. The width restriction needs to be changed to allow for this
