Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later
I had to drive into/over this pothole to avoid driving into oncoming traffic on 24 June 2021 at 4.10pm. Unfortunately the impact resulted in the hire van completely shutting down and going into 'cut-off' mode and stopping. This was extremely dangerous because I had stopped on a blind bend and was unable to restart the vehicle. The police attended, see incident log 1487 and the vehicle was eventually reset by a Citreon engineer, after 1 hour 45 minutes. I had damaged the van wheel due to the impact of hitting the pothole. I would like to put in a claim of £75.00 to you which is the damage invoiced to me by Caversham Van Hire due to hitting the pothole. The whole scenario was extremely stressful and incredibly dangerous, being on a blind bend with limited visibility for both sides of the traffic. It was very lucky there was not a major road traffic accident as a consequence of this.

I was also forced to hit this pothole today. It is dangerous and requires urgent attention. The impact was severe, I have not yet had the chance to inspect the wheel/tyre but I strongly suspect damage has been caused.
