The trees along Tower Hill (OX28 5ET) are dangerously overgrown. The school children cross outside our house and it is impossible to see oncoming traffic. Twice this week children have almost been hit by oncoming cars, once where a driver had to use emergency breaks and another today where they had to swerve into the opposite lane and this is only what I’ve seen on the way to work. I reported this last week to Witney council but they have just got back to me to say it falls under Oxford County Council jurisdiction. Please can you trim the trees as I think there will be an awful accident very soon with a child or driver. It obscures all the way along the road and additionally drivers cannot see when pulling out of driveways or from Wilkinson Place.

The bushes are too dangerous and will cause an accident.

  • The trees described in your enquiry are part of our annual epicormic removal program, where we remove the basal and stem growth the trees put on. We are starting works in the coming weeks and this area will be done as a priority.

    Many thanks for your enquiry.
