The Chiltern Cycleway pavement alongside the Fair Mile (A4130) eroded and dangerous
Reported via desktop in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 16:42, Tue 22 June 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The Chiltern Cycleway (basically the pavement) that runs alongside the Fair Mile (A4130) just inside the Henley town boundary has become eroded and sloping in the direction of the road. There is no longer any concrete lip between the road and cycle way/pavement making it very dangerous for cycling and pedestrians. Especially because at that point on the Fair Mile the speed limit is still 70MPH and vehicles are coming off the Bix by pass at speed downhill and turning a slight corner. All you need is for one driver to have a lapse of concentration and easily edge onto the cycleway and there could be a terrible accident.
