Cars parking too close to junction
Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 11:24, Friday 18 June 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The new development entrance joining Springfield Road has incredibly poor visibility due to cars parking too close to the juction, breaching the highway code. Double yellow lines + traffic warden inspection are desperately needed as there have been a few near miss accidents when pulling out. This stretch historically had no parking due to the school site previously there, this should be restored around the two entrances.

The new development entrance joining Springfield Road has incredibly poor visibility due to cars parking too close to the juction. Cars park directly opposite and very close to the right. The shrubs to the left also reduce visibility of cars coming down the hill.

The installation of formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a ‘Traffic Regulation Order’ which in involves a long and expensive legal process including full consultation, I regret that Oxfordshire County Council could not fund such a scheme at this time.
It should be noted that if a vehicle is parked in either a dangerous position or in such a position as to cause an obstruction these are offences under Section 22 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, this legislation is enforced by Thames Valley Police.
