Cycles riding through alley

On Friday I was coming back from work, I live in Barnes Close at around,4 15 pm I entry from Mowbray Rd end the photos show that entrance was half way down when all of a sudden there was this woman on her push bike in front of me she narrowly miss me she & others ride bike through here it a accident waiting to happen because what every entrance you use you can not see the other entrance because there a bend in the middle it was very frighten if she had hit me am 65, for her to stop she had to jump off her saddle to stop, I phoned the police and they said that it not a cycle track it breaking the law they advised that I get in touch with you please can we have sign put up both ends saying no cycling through this alley, if that been a child she would not have see them, I have got more photos of the alley I will forward on in another email hope you will see how dangerous this is Brenda Blake

1st photo is Barnes Close entrance 2nd is before you get to the bend from Barnes Close side where she was coming from, it a blind corner if I had been near the bend on the other side we would of both been injured 3rd is standing in the middle looking towards Mowbray Rd end where I had entry from hope you can see how dangerous this is for anybody even the idiots on bikes too Brenda Blake

Thank you for this enquiry and for noting that this is related to your other post about this same route. Unfortunately, placing the signs as you suggest is not a straightforward matter as it would require the implementation of a 'Traffic Regulation Order' which involves a long and expensive legal process including full consultation, unfortunately Oxfordshire County Council could not fund such a scheme at this time. If this does continue to be a significant concern then we would suggest an approach is made to your Town Council so that due consideration can be given towards its priority within the local area and so that any proposal can be endorsed and promoted locally. Town / Parish Councils are also well placed to secure the necessary funding for such a scheme should it be progressed with ourselves.
