Hello I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask about this so please let me know if it's another department.
Re: The traffic lights for the crossroads in Wallingford.
So cycling with my young children on Saturday evening there was only one other car in our part of the road.....once that car had gone through, the lights changed immediately and traffic started coming towards us.....we weren't given enough time to get across the crossroads. Luckily all the cars coming towards us were going straight on but it would have been dangerous had they been turning or coming from either of the other two roads. This has happened now on many an occasion when just myself and now with my children too. It makes me uncomfortable about cycling with them through Wallingford and I'm wondering if the traffic light system can be adapted to account for cyclists.

Thank you for confirming. We have checked the junctions operation and confirm that there is a minimum delay of 15 seconds between the approach from Crowmarsh losing a green and a conflicting approach then receiving a green signal. These current (intergreen) timings are in line with current guidance. The accident record for the junction has also been checked and this does not show there to be an accident problem with the site. We believe the current operation and timings to be appropriate but will continue to monitor the junction.
