2 Street Lights out of 4 total in the street not working

Reported via desktop in the Street lighting category anonymously at 18:12, Monday 14 June 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

There are 4 street lights in Hutchcombe Farm Close (marked as lamp posts 1-4). Street lights in front of house no. 8 (opp house no. 2, lamp post marked 3) and house no. 7 (opp house no. 3, lamp post marked 4) have not been working for few months. 1st complaint about street light in front of house no. 2 (rather opposite 2) was lodged in Oct 2020 but was not repaired despite promise to do so and the complaint was then duly closed recently as 'repaired' even though 'not repaired'. 2nd complaint about street light in front of No. 7 was made recently in June '21 but complaint case was closed promptly on FixMyStreet with a response (incorrectly) that the light is not the responsibility of the Council. This light as well as rest of the 3 street lights in the Close (incl in front of No. 2 (i.e. opp no. 2, in front of no. 8), which Council states as repaired- but actually not repaired) are all within high-way markers in the street, and thus is on public highway and maintained by the Council (in fact Road-sweeper machine visits the street occasionally all the way up to house number 7 and house number 3). There are 3 houses at the end of the Close (house number 4, 5, 6) which are on private road and there are no street lights in that part of the road. So, all 4 street lights in the Street are on public high-way and therefore responsibility of the Council. Request both the street lights, which have not been in operation for many months, be promptly repaired. Ideally this problem report should not be 'closed' in FixMyStreet without first getting confirmation from those reporting the problem. Thanks.
