There is a cycle lane from headington roundabout to Holton. The cycle lane markings have been designed for cyclists going to Wheatley village - which is ridiculous as the cycle lane A) arrives at Holton first and many people cycle left down the lane to Holton to Access holton village or go on in the direction of Waterperry B) pupils and staff use the cycle lane from Sandhils and Forest Hill direction to reach Wheatley Park School and yet none of the markings guide these cyclists as to where they should emerge into the road (which is a 90 degree bend). C) the bend is a blind bend with a rise upwards and then fall downwards towards Holton, creating a blind zone on the road where cars can’t see cyclists until close up. That blind zone corresponds with the place on the road that some cyclists choose to turn right into the school car park. C) when the cyclists start off down the road towards Holton and Wheatley Park Schhol there is no signage guiding them at what point they should cross the road to the school car park. The place where some choose to cross opposite the car park entrance happens to be a blind zone to traffic from both Directions until close up (due to slight jump in road gradient)
The combination of cycle path, blind bend, no markings for cyclists or vehicles IS A RECIPE FOR A FATALITY.
Please install painted markings and cycle signage to show cyclists how to reach Holton &Waterperry and also Wheatley Park School.
