One way restriction not clear and commonly ignored by drivers

Over the last year the number of cars that get driven the wrong way over the one way bridge between Caldecott Road and St Helens Wharf has increased. I now encounter it most times I drive or walk into town. This is very dangerous considering the number of elderly people and young families that use this bridge to cross over on their way into Abingdon town centre. I feel that the one way sign is not clear so people do not recognise it (it is not the more common red circle with the white line). A stronger deterrent is needed such as flow plates or one way teeth. This needs attention to avoid a car on car collision, road rage incident or worse. Cars that drive the wrong way over this bridge often speed over it to 'sneak' past but the increased speed through that section is a huge risk to pedestrians that may not look for a car coming from that direction.
