Hello,
I have been advised to reach to you by the Didcot council, the owner of the allotments.
I would like to bring to your attention that after the Wantage road, Didcot has had some work done/ resurfaced, we started scraping the bottom of our car on the curb that is now installed between the newly surfaced road and the driveway/ entrance to the allotments (adjacent to the left directly next to Woodlands Medical Centre. The workmen have made a “ramp” using the tarmac in order to level up the height difference. Problem with it is that it is only about 2 feet short and so not long enough for the degree of the drop, if you know what I mean.
Week commencing 26/04/21: There was one resident who lives on Wantage road who was checking all of the “ramps” on all driveways on that side of the road when we scraped our car for the first time.m. He rushed towards us when he heard the loud scrape of our car on the curb. He said that the same keeps happening to him and so he is damaging his car every time he comes or leaves his house. He said he didn’t know what to do to have it corrected.
Week commencing 10/05/21: I have observed that one of the ramps leading to some of the properties have since been made longer - now about 4-5 feet long - but the ramp leading to the allotments is still short (about 2 feet).
I was hoping that this will be corrected at some point during the road repairs but I’m worried that it will stay like this as the workers have now moved further down the road. If you wish me to provide you with more info (pics, etc) please let me know. You can also call me on 07791 620344. Your help to solve this problem is much appreciated. Thank you
