Chestnut Drive - junction in darkness,
Reported via desktop in the Street lighting category anonymously at 08:13, Wed 19 May 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
You installed 4 x new street lights back in Aptil and removed 1 x street light. Excellent& long overdue.
All 4 new lights have not yet been turned on! Or don't work. The junction is now in total darkness. As is the green on Sutton Wick and coincides with a bench on Sutton Wick being damaged (there is report on here).
Why spend 10 days installing new lights. What's going on please?

Hi Paul Many thanks for your enquiry, the new street lights have been installed by the housing developer as part of there Section 278 agreement to light the access to the new development. I have forward your report onto our Roads Agreement Team for them to ask the developer to give us an update on what's going on and to get them working ASAP. Kind regards
Dave

Thank you for reporting this. We have emailed our contact at Miller Homes alerting them to the issue with the street lights and have asked them to come back to us as a matter of urgency. We will provide a further update as soon as Miller Homes have responded.

I have also made Miller Homes directly aware and had correspondence from them. Another week of no action or attendance. This junction remains in total darkness and is an accident waiting to happen. Surely if lights have been installed. Switching them on should be the easy bit.

Miller Homes have confirmed this morning that the street lighting connections are booked for this week/early next week. We have advised that the junction is in darkness and action is required ASAP.
