Reported via mobile in the Manhole category anonymously at 07:51, Wed 12 May 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Thankyou for your reply. After 2 years of reporting this problem I am back to where I was 2 years ago. I have just tried to phone Thames Water on 08003169800 and none of the relevant options let me speak to an operator. Please can you give me details of who you spoke to so I can follow this up with Thames Water. I have provided my email address and mobile number in my reports to you if you are unable to disclose this in a public forum. Thankyou

I have managed to look inside the noisy manhole and can confirm Thames Water were correct 2 years ago - it is not their manhole cover. The contents inside are displayed in the picture above. Please can you advise where I go from here. I am definitely at my wits end. Please please can someone help.

Sorry for the delay in response. Thank you for the photo, I have had confirmation from Thames Water that they were referring to an issue outside 24 NOT opposite where I had told them. We are trying to find the utility responsible as it is not shown on any utility records we have access to. I have requested the cover is quietened whilst these investigation are on-going however we are limited in what we can do as the cover is not a Highway cover. As soon as I know more I will advise.

20-05-21 Openreach (BT) have checked this inspection chamber/cabling out and advised they believe it to be Virgin Media(VM). An urgent request for this to be investigated/resolved has been sent to VM

Thanks for the update. Hope Virgin Media come up trumps and re-seat the frame and cover. The cover does not site square on the frame, so think the frame needs levelling up.

Thank you for your report. Virgin Media (VM) have placed tarmac over the cover as a temporary measure to quieten it. As this matter is now in the hands of VM this report is now closed.
