Very bright old light

Reported via mobile in the Street lighting category anonymously at 20:49, Tue 11 May 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Light no. 4 is located directly outside our house (28 Morton Close). It looks like one of the older lights in the vicinity, definitely on the street. We have lived here since Dec 2018 and it has caused our daughter many problems getting to sleep as it shines brightly directly outside of her window. We have done all that we can control to address the light issue in the house but it continues to be a problem. We imagine it is not the most energy efficient either. Could it be replaced with a modern, energy efficient street light like the one diagonally opposite?

  • Hi there The light has not been replaced, like all the others on the street. Can you advise when the street light will be updated please?

  • This street light is causing similar sleep issues for our two year-old. The rest of the street lights on this road have been updated to more modern designs that angle the light down. Why not this one? It is directly outside the house in-line with the window. If it is not going to be updated then it could at least be switched off.
