‘50’ speed limit sign missing.

On the westbound carriageway of the A40, the checkpoint where the national speed limit drops to 50mph, there is only one 50 sign. Am I right in thinking there should be two? One on either side of the carriageway to indicate a speed limit change.

It’s been like this for months, and it’s easy to miss the one sign that is left, as it’s tilted facing away from oncoming traffic.
