Concern about tree: Crowmarsh Gifford - The Street / Thames Mead

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 08:39, Friday 7 May 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The large horse chestnut by the bus stop on The Street at the end of Thames Mead has shed a rotten branch. The tree is not under a protection order, but is a feature of the street view / landscape in a public location right by a bus stop and footways. The two trunks have been tied together in the past with a metal rod and is not in a healthy state and either needs to be cut back severely (by about 50%) or (but only if absolutely necessary) taken down and replaced.

Please can you erect warning signs or restrict access to the paths under the tree.

The parish council would be grateful for any advice and information.
