The road surface in Bridge End just before the Green was resurfaced about 15 years ago but not the single carriageway surrounding the green. Although this has been patched over the years the surface has become seriously damaged in recent months by speeding vehicles including delivery vans. A major concern is that deep ruts are beginning to appear in the adjacent soft untreated verges of the Green. On the norther side of the Green adjacent to the metalised road a local distribution gas pipe is buried and there is a concern that if the ruts become deeper this might lead to a fracture of the pipe.
