This is the second time I have reported this. The response received and shown does not resolve the issue. The response states that “blue signs are placed at the start/end points” and that is my issue, as either a start or an endpoint sign missing which means cyclists coming along the pavement from Burwell Meadow are not instructed by a blue sign to dismount through the narrow/hidden section of this foot path. Someone is going to get injured at some point as it stands. If you don’t understand what I am saying the please contact me.

  • Thank you for your report. The 'shared' facility starts in Ducklington Lane and ends where the sign is on Thorney Leys Road. From the sign westbound is just footway, this area is not part of the shared facility as indicated in the sign that is there at present. This sign tells cyclists to dismount at that point if travelling west and to start cycling at that point travelling in the other direction. From Colwell Drive there is no indication that this is a shared facility so people should not be treating this as such because it is just a regular footway.
