No change of speed limit signs

Reported via mobile in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 21:06, Thursday 22 April 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The speed limit on Cumnor Hill was recently changed to 30, but no signs have been put up to alert drivers to the change apart from at the very top of Cumnor Hill. Today a 13 year old boy was hit crossing the road. Drivers need to be alerted to reduce their speed! Please put up some "new speed limits in force" signs all along Cumnor Hill.

  • Thank you for your report. I’m re-assigning this report, requesting temporary "new 30 mph speed limit in force" signs all along Oxford Road & Cumnor Hill, Cumnor & Botley, to the Vale Traffic Schemes Team for their appraisal and assessment.

  • I agree with this - it needs urgent attention - locals are used to the 40mph limit and wouldn't realise it has changed. The reduction in speed is welcome but requires proper communication.
