This dropped drain cover has just been repaired after 2 or 3 years of having to drive around it and whoever repaired it needs to refund what they were paid as it is an appalling repair as bad as it was before. the white markings of course have now gone and as a tax payer I am disgusted with this job. Please have it repaired again as buses regularly drive over it.

Thank you for your report. We believe this sunken area of carriageway maybe due to an issue with the pipework underneath the carriageway. As you can see, there are two Thames Water inspection covers in the sunken area.
We have made a small repair to ensure the area is safe at least, whilst our Highways Officer has now served a Section 81 Notice on Thames Water to investigate and make good any permanent repairs required. If the pipework under the carriageway is defective or collapsing we need to get that rectified so any tarmac repair will not just sink again. We will be checking this has been dealt with by Thames Water but obviously can not give dates at this juncture.
