Thank you for reporting this issue. I have visited the site you pinpointed on the map, the side of ‘Frog Cottage’, 13 North Hinksey Lane, see photos. I am re-assigning this report to the Drainage Team to assess and investigate.

Looking the photograph this wouldn't be considered a flood risk in it's current state. The majority of the grills height is clear and will offer a good rate of through flow. I have therefore added it to the low priority list for clearing.

Thank you for your enquiry. The grill is there to stop the debris going down the culvert. The most recent photos you have posted show that the grill is doing it's job quite nicely and in it's current state is not considered to be impeding the flow of water as most of the grill is clear. No action will be taken at this stage but the grill will be checked when Inspectors are in the area and action taken if necessary.

This grill needs to be cleared before the winter, the thick root mass is encroaching into the channel and grill, and become more difficult to remove the thicker it gets. The grill is 40% blocked.

This has been looked into a little further and seems this is not a Highway Drainage Grill, it's actually a District Council maintained grill. I have therefore passed this to South and vale District Council who I'm informed regularly inspect and maintain / clear this grill where necessary. I'm told it's due for routine inspection in October but as an Drainage Engineer is nearby at the weekend, he will drop by and take a look. If he feels clearing is warranted, he will arrange that to happen.

Here is an update to your report. After further investigation we have ascertained that we are not responsible for this bridge, it is not part of the highway network that Oxfordshire County Council is responsible for maintaining at public expense. This is the responsibility of White Horse District Council. I am therefore closing this report.
