No road markings at T-junction

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 21:39, Sunday 11 April 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

There are no road markings at this T-junction. Recently, road markings were re-painted in the area but not here. This is a heavily used road and cars often shoot out into the main road without stopping. Surely this road down to Soho Farmhouse is busy enough for give-way marking on the road? Hundreds of cars use this road daily when the site is open.

  • Thank you for your report. Our road marking budget is for refurbishment of present lines only. Prior to Soho Farmhouse opening in this location this would have been a low level use single track road which is possibly why there are no markings at the junction. I visited the site and noted there wasn't a Give Way sign there either.

I will make a note of this and raise it with my manager to see if there is anything we are able to do about this. It may not be within this financial year (2021/22) because we are already heavily oversubscribed for refurbishment works of present road markings however I will add this matter to my list of potential future works if funding is available.
