Shrinking footpath - down to 0.5 m in place on Banbury Road

Reported via desktop in the Pavements category anonymously at 12:40, Wednesday 31 March 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The footpath between Banbury Road North (North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club) and the Kidlington Roundabout has become almost un-useable with the amount of dirt and vegetation taking the footpath down to less than 0.5m in most places. This footpath is now shared by pedestrians and cyclist and its only a matter of time before a serious incident occurs. We are a walking and cycling city, but clearly not along the Banbury Road.

  • Thank you for your report which has now been closed and please accept our apologies for the late reply (as this report was initially reassigned incorrectly).
Our Highways officer has now programmed in extensive siding out work for the footway/cycleway to maintain the maximum width for the users. We do not currently have a date for this work but we will do our very best to complete it as soon as possible.
    Thank you.
