Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Who do I talk to about the crossing from Northway estate to Barton Park across the ring road? I have to cross this road several times daily and the crossing is a horrible nightmare! The pedestrian crossing controls are far too close to the road and they seem to change far too quickly also making it impossible to cross the whole road meaning you are stuck in the middle with traffic flying past at tremendous speeds. There ought to be barriers put up as it feels totally open especially if crossing in the dark. Also the path needs some signage painted on to remind pedestrians that they are walking through a bicycle lane or bicycles that there are potential pedestrians about to walk into the bike lane. Feel free to contact me in regard to this.

Major accident occurred here 3 weeks ago involving cars and taking out the traffic lights. I had a near miss with a driver who wasn't paying attention and only just stopped when the lights were red...by stop I mean over the stop line inches away from me!

I'm concerned about the safety of this pedestrian crossing. Last week I was crossing from Barton Park while the green man was showing only to be faced with a car whose driver had performed a U-term while travelling west, and was going through a red light.

This pedestrian crossing is very dangerous. There needs to be a bridge or underpass built to ensure the safety of people crossing. Barton park is still under construction and many more pedestrians will use this crossing, there is a lot of vehicles using this section of the road, many of them ignoring the speed limit and with the possible introductions of more LTN'S will mean an increase in vehicles, there has already been a major accident there and some near misses.
