Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
To introduce myself I am a resident of the Ladygrove estate in Didcot. I often do a lot of outdoor activities (walking, running etc) and hence I have noticed this problem which I believe is affecting a number of people in the area.
The current pavement on the B4016 Ladygrove Road (map below) is too short. There is a major bridleway and a new housing development opposite at the point marked on the map. Currently when driving I notice many people walking on the grass verge on the side of the road, creating a danger for both road users and residents as it is difficult to pass can cars go at high speed. I myself often have to run along the edge of the road before i can reach the edge of the Ladygrove estate. A new housing development is being built along the West side of the road. I imagine this will significantly increase the number of users on the roadside as many residents who move to this development will want to walk to the town centre. I believe that the council should consider the extension of a pavement along this route.
See the attached screenshot. Currently the blue highlighted line is the area where i would propose a new pavement to be installed. I note that there already is an existing pavement up until cow lane.
The pavement would only need to be on one side of the road as that would provide sufficient safety for individuals walking on this route.
I hope that makes sense

Dear Mr Morris,
There is currently no proposal of extending the footway on the B4016 at this point. The current design of the development has provided infrastructure within the site for pedestrians and cyclists, due to the nature and speed of the road. There is a proposal for a crossing on the B4016, to allow people to safely cross from east to west. We will however mention a potential extension to the developer, as a suggestion.
