Large Pothole has reappeared in Deanfield Avenue, RG9 1UH
Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 20:30, Thursday 25 February 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
A pothole has reappeared next to the speed hump in Deanfield Avenue. It was reported previously in the same location, around last October, and subsequently repaired. Clearly, the repair was inadequate as it now reappeared and is about 0.5 metres wide and estimated 20 cm deep. It is continually filling with water, and freezing in cold weather. The effect of vehicles hitting it from the speed hump means it suffers a lot of impact damage and loose material is spreading across the road. There is also a Thames Water leak, (reported separately) on the other side of the street, which is possibly washing away the road foundations.

This hole is now much bigger. It is full of water but I’d estimate it is now 40cm deep and 80cm wide.

This pothole is huge and very damaging to cars, it’s hard to notice it before you hit it as it’s hidden slightly by the bump in the road

The pothole has got much larger, there have been two further reports by other people, but no action has been apparently taken by the council. It is really dangerous for cyclists and motorcyclists as they have very limited visibility due to the road hump immediately in front of the pothole.

Still open, via questionnaire
Really bad pothole hidden behind speed bump so you can't see it before you hit it. It has damaged our wheel, and prob many others. Extreme danger to cyclists. Opposite building site and Henley College.

This large pot hole is directly after a speed bump outside of the college. It is unavoidable when travelling up the hill and another car is passing down.
Its also difficult to see if you do not know it is there due to its positioning after the bump.
It is so large it has unclipped my front bumper and damaged the paint on my car.
Please can this pothole be addressed as it is impacting my whole office on their daily commute into work.
