Granite sets loose and displaced

Reported via desktop in the Pavements category anonymously at 19:21, Thursday 25 February 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

One set has been displaced so it will come out completely shortly and lie in the road forming a danger to pedestians if a large lorry half runs over it and shoots it onto the pavement. Then the others will start coming out and do much the same. And then the pavement itself will beocome dangerous. If fixed now all that can be avoided. The damaged part is just outside house number 23A on the East side of the road.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. I have visited the site you pinpointed on the map, in front of 23A Abingdon Road - B4017, and assessed the issue you have identified. The one badly displaced sett has been placed back into it's correct position, see before and after photos. The other slightly displaced setts, unfortunately, don't meet our current intervention criteria, so I cannot arrange a repair. We will continue to monitor this site during our routine inspections. I am therefore closing this report.
