Downs Road Multiple Potholes and Defects
Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 10:21, Tuesday 23 February 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
I have the unfortunate pleasure of regularly cycling along Downs Road. I am now giving up reporting individual defects as I could do several a day. Many are repairs which have failed within a week of being 'fixed'. I hope you enjoy the gallery. The section of road marked on the supplied map is dangerous especially to motor bikes and pedal cycles, there is going to be a serious accident if nothing more substantial is done other than pouring tarmac into the ever expanding holes.

The road was recently closed for resurfacing however only around 30% of the defects have been repaired. There are still several large potholes and other areas where the surface is seriously failing, even adjacent to the bits that have been fixed! It beggars belief that only a part job has been done and the remaining areas are still a serious danger to motorbikes and cyclists and will also damage car wheels and suspensions.

Still open, via questionnaire
I can’t drive my car up the Downs Road at all! There is a section where you can’t even drive slowly around the potholes...they are over the whole road! This needs to be sorted out urgently. 14/04/21.

In addition to the April 1st post photo. Why was all the gravel and broken tarmac left all over the pavement and cycle lane? Another accident waiting to happen.
