Reported via desktop in the Current Roadworks - live information category anonymously at 10:01, Tue 23 February 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later
A temporary cycle lane has been implemented from the A34 overbridge to Wolvercote roundabout on Westbound carriageway and eastbound cycle lane has been closed. The westbound temporary cycle lane is an unsafe surface and therefore unable to cycle safely and could cause damage to cycle wheels and potentially could lose control of bike

Just totally repeating what the gentle man above has said , im just hoping they will at least tarmac the path , a lot of people can only use this path to get to work and i saw a cyclist using the A40 road instead so not to use this " barn track " , im just hoping there is not a serious accident soon , this needs to be sorted sooner than later .

Update on the temporary cycle surface. The covering of small loose gravel is becoming deep in places and the depth of this causes bike wheels to loose traction and unable to cycle in places. totally inappropriate surface to cycle on. Please either smooth this down or get rid of the loose crap.

Just want to endorse what others have said about the inappropriate surface for cycling, and also add that all the signage refers only to pedestrians except for one sign that says 'cyclists dismount' (for no obvious reason). The two narrow gates at the western end of the works imply that only pedestrians use the path, when the opposite is true - hardly anyone walks along there.

Apologies for the delay in response. If this is still an issue, please re-raise and it will be allocated to the correct team.
