New LED lighting is causing an issue with light pollution for neighbouring houses

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
There has been new lights installed on the A4142 running parallel with Green Road (a residential road). These are far brighter and more intrusive than the previous lights (and all those before). Please can shades be put on to to these to direct the light down and away from the houses.

Thank you for your report, to enable us to log the fault to the correct unit can you please advise using the attached map the street light number you are referring to. If the unit is not on the map this would not be owned/maintained by Oxfordshire County Council and would need to be reported to the developer/landowner direct. Unfortunately we do not keep records of private lights.

Unfortunately your map was not helpful as it has no details regarding lights. However, I went on to the reservation and looked (not ideal). The lights in question are number 11 and 12 on the A4142 going in the direction of Green Road Roundabout to Cowley. I'm surprised this light pollution hasn't been highlighted as an issue with the new LED lighting that is being fitted in this area. The street and road lights are now harsh, cold and dazzling (I don't see this as progress, they just reduce the quality of living for the residents in the area). Please look at getting softer LED lighting in keeping with the area if going forwards with this plan. Regards, Kellie Welch
