Speed Bump

Sent to Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

We have a speed bump outside our property, we have been here for 14 years and have always noticed the house vibrates when a vehicle goes over but recently the whole house shake badly. This happens when a HGV bus or a car drives over it very fast. In recent times we have had an increase of HGVs during to a new development at the top of the hill and garden projects over the summer. We are confident this is due to the speed bump.

  • Thank you for your report. The speed bumps on Bretch Hill are designed as a traffic calming measure. We are not qualified to advise on Structural issues, please employ the services of a structural engineer regarding this matter. Regards
