Get in lane sign required

Reported via iOS in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 12:42, Wednesday 17 February 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Can you please look into the possibility of installing a “Get in Lane” sign at the location indicated, just before leaving the Oxford Business Park exit to the Cowley Junction roundabout?

I have lost count of the number of times other vehicles have almost driven into the left hand side of me as they are in the middle lane instead of the right hand lane on joining the roundabout and are looking to take the Tesco exit.

This happens so often that it is clear that it is a design issue that needs to be addressed.

  • This issue needs to be taken more seriously. My subjective observations are that about half of the cars going into Tesco take the middle lane. I understand that the Council cannot make people obey the law, but this is an issue of safety. If the Council can take action to prevent property damage and personal injury, they probably should. Here are some reports of the same issue. It's been discussed over and over again for years now: ENQ19826109 ENQ19836120 ENQ19832162 ENQ19834904

I'm afraid road markings are not the answer here. To me the current road markings are visible and clear. They direct the middle lane to flow into the left lane, but people cross the markings all the time.
