Street light in need of removing from our house 23 Greys Road

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Back in October 2020 I reported an issue with a street light which is fixed to our house. We are having the front of the house repointed and the wiring and light need to be removed. The builders need access to the area. We do not want the light reaffixed after the work has been carried out. Work is due to commence work on March 1st and I'm not sure they should have to remove it and make the wiring safe. Many thanks Guy Shankland

  • Hi Guy, I hope all is well , ive sent a few emails not sure if they have gone to junk mail ? No problem, I will get the lantern removed, we will need to install a replacement column somewhere in that vicinity. The service cable feeding the light is owned by SSE so they will need to remove any service cables, best contact is connections@ssen.co.uk.

    The light should however be moved in time for your works, I'm unsure when the column will go up but will update where possible, good luck with the project

  • Hi I've had a phone call from SSE saying I need to pay for the connection to be removed. I was under the understanding this was a council issue not a private one as I never wanted it in the first place. Please can you arrange with SSE to get the connection removed. I really don't want to have to leave possible live wires exposed after the brickwork is done.
