Signage and parking restrictions required for hill

Reported via mobile in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 10:23, Monday 15 February 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The small hill at this point of Rutten Lane provides such an obstruction to road visibility, as to make it impossible to see all but the largest oncoming vehicles. On road parking on the hill makes the problem much worse, and far more unsafe. Appropriate signage for such a hill is required, as is suitable parking restrictions (on both sides of the road) to make it safe.

  • Thank you for your report. Currently we do not believe that there needs to be any signage here as it is a 30mph road. Also with regards to parking restrictions we suggest that you speak to your local parish or councillor as any implementation of parking restrictions cost £3000 just for the legal work and this is not guaranteed to be installed if it gets rejected by the local community.
