Hazardous stretch of road

Reported via desktop anonymously at 17:38, Sat 6 February 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later

Road less safe due to construction work starting. Drivers easily distracted by signage on bend and construction vehicles parked on verge. At times movement of vehicles from the verge has resulted muddy road surface on the bend which could cause skids. Suggest (i) Speed limit be reduced by 10 miles / hour during this phase of work and (ii) better signage earlier on in road to warn of hazards. This would also make the road safer for workers who are crossing to go to the field.

  • Sorry instead of 'better signage' please read 'Additional signage'. In addton to existing signage, suggest also need signage earlier on along road and maybe at nearby Dunmore Road road junctions.
