Reported via iOS in the Drainage category by Rupert Molloy at 12:17, Sunday 24 January 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This gully situated at the lower point of Mount View served a useful potential purpose to reduce the volume of water entering the roundabout on Kings Road, now it is inadequate as filled with silt.

  • Thank you, Rupert, for putting this drain back onto OCC's radar, as, despite yellow painting the kerb, and my conversation with the Gully Wagon driver, it didn't appear on his to do list. I couldn't penetrate through the silt with hand tool last week. Bob

  • Thank you for reporting this issue. The gully issue/blockage will be included in our forthcoming gully cleansing programme. As there is a limited budget, we have to prioritise high flood risk areas. Sometimes it is the volume of water that falls, and our drains are unable to cope, but the water eventually disperses. If you feel your property is at risk, please contact the emergency services or contact our call centre on 0345 310 11 11 to request sandbags. We will continue to monitor this on our routine inspections. Regards
