For the last 35 years when on foot turning from St Martins Street at St Leonards Square into Goldsmith Lane I have always worried about stepping off the pavement into the path of traffic coming down Goldsmith Lane often driving too fast. In the last few days the kerbs in the Square have been replaced which actually makes the problem much worse. Now you are now more exposed to the traffic. Someone with a pram is at severe risk because they would have to push the pram into the road before they could see traffic coming from their right. One simple partial solution which would cost a fraction of the kerb works would be to mount a mirror on the post holding the “No Entry” sign adjacent to the sewing shop. This would allow pedestrians to see oncoming traffic and car drivers to see pedestrians who are concealed by the building wall. I demand this is dealt with urgently before there is a fatal accident.
